Note: IBC 2024 and ASCE 7-22 are supported in ENERCALC as of March 2025.

Highlights

   Building Code Information Window Updates
The Building Code Information window has been streamlined for clarity. A new "Sync referenced design standards with selected IBC edition" button replaces the old checkbox, directly aligning standards with the chosen IBC edition. Visual indicators now highlight deviations from IBC defaults, helping you quickly confirm whether your project is using standard or customized code settings.

   Steel Column Flexural Detail Results
The Steel Column module now reports Mny Flexural Detail results for HSS Square and Rectangular sections. These details appear under Calculations > Detailed Results > Flexural Detail, improving transparency in HSS flexural checks.

HSS Flexural Strength Corrections Across Steel Modules
Several steel modules have been updated. The Seff calculation for Mny for flange-local buckling has been corrected for HSS sections with slender flanges. The Mnx equation for lateral-torsional buckling has also been updated to exclude Lateral-Torsional Buckling for HSS Square sections, in accordance with AISC 360 Section F7 for AISC 360-16 and later editions.

   Restrained Retaining Wall Reinforcement Checks
The module now separates the checks for moment capacity and minimum/maximum reinforcing steel in concrete stems. Both the user interface and printed reports have been updated for clearer presentation of reinforcement compliance.

   Project Manager Behavior Fix
Fixed an issue where all divisions collapsed when closing a calculation. The Project Manager now retains its expanded layout after save and close actions.

feature General

Introduced a new splash screen to alert users to the new method of inserting Loads & Forces calcs for ASCE 7-22 and later. (2025-11-04)

Corrected some values in the overturning and resisting analysis within the printed report.  (2025-10-31)

Corrected a display issue that was causing the Project Manager to collapse all divisions whenever a calculation was saved and closed. (2025-10-31)

feature Concrete Beam

Introduced a convenience note to remind the user of the need to provide additional skin reinforcement per Section 9.7.2.3 when the beam height exceeds 36”. (2025-10-28)

Minimum number of bars was set to six when spiral ties are specified.  (2025-10-20)

Modified the passive pressure input field to accept more than just three digits to the left of the decimal place. (2025-10-24)

The following updates have been made to the following modules: Steel Beam, Multiple Simple Beam, Composite Steel Beam, Steel Beam with Torsional Loads, Soldier Pile Retaining Wall, 2D Frame (2025-10-09):

  • The equation used to determine Seff in the calculation for Mny_FLB for HSS sections with slender flanges has been corrected.
  • The equation for Mnx_LTB has been corrected to ignore Lateral-Torsional Buckling for HSS Square sections per AISC 360 Section F7 when the AISC edition is set to AISC 360-16 or later.

Corrected the calculation of Kcover on Stem Design Values > Rebar Lap & Embedment Lengths for masonry stems. (2025-10-21)

The module collects vertical reinforcing size and spacing for concrete stems.  The work in this ticket separated and clarified the checks for moment capacity, and the checks for minimum and maximum reinforcing steel requirements in concrete stems.  Clarified reporting is presented in the graphical user interface as well as in the printed report. (2025-10-17)
