update New Release

We’ve issued a hot fix to address a couple issues from a recent release, and added some new features while we were at it. Run the Updater to update your current installation or download the Full Installer for new installations.

Highlights

Governing Code Selection Fix in Project Manager
The Project Manager now properly saves the selected ASCE 7 Edition. This also corrects a related problem where the Delete, Copy, Add, and Edit buttons were inaccessible.

Wood Column Kf About X Correction
A bug in the Wood Column module has been fixed where the Kf About X value was incorrectly set to zero for unbraced columns.

ASCE 7 Orthogonal Combination Mode in Rigid Diaphragm Torsional Analysis
A new loading mode has been added to the Torsional Analysis of Rigid Diaphragm module for the ASCE 7 Orthogonal Combination (100% + 30%) procedure. Users can now specify lateral forces in the X and Y directions, and the program will automatically generate permutations so each axis experiences both ±100% and ±30%.

The following updates have been made to the Torsional Analysis of Rigid Diaphragm module (2025-08-19):

feature
  • Added a new loading mode for the ASCE 7 Orthogonal Combination (100%+30%) procedure, allowing specification of lateral forces in the X and Y directions with automatic permutation so each axis experiences both +/-100% and +/-30%.

update
  • Increased value precision on the Summary Maximums and All Force Results tabs to display more decimal places.

bugfix
  • Fixed an issue where the flexibility of Generic Resisting Elements was not displaying correctly.

update Wood Beam

Restored the display of nominal section sizes (rather than actual sizes) for sawn lumber.  (2025-08-19)

The analysis has been updated so that accidental eccentricity evaluation points are now processed starting with the +X eccentricity and continuing counterclockwise along the elliptical eccentricity path. This adjustment does not affect calculation results, only the order in which the information is presented. (2025-08-18)

Made a change to allow the program to properly save the selected ASCE 7 Edition.  This also eliminated a problem where the Delete, Copy, Add and Edit buttons were inaccessible in the Project Manager. (2025-08-19)

bugfix Wood Column

Corrected an issue with the newly introduced value Kf About X that left it set to zero in unbraced columns. (2025-08-18)

update Wall Footing

In preparation for ACI 318-25 support, the UI note indicating that the size effect factor is taken as 1.0 for shallow foundations has been clarified to align more closely with the language presented in Section 13.2.6.2. (2025-08-11)

Repaired an issue that was causing an unexpected change in the applied moment. (2025-08-15)

Highlights

Wood Beam – Improved Weak Axis Bending Support
When placing a wood beam in the weak orientation, the 2D and 3D graphics now display the correct orientation, and Member Width and Depth values are automatically swapped. Labels indicating weak orientation appear in both the on-screen display and printed report, and a pop-up reminder prompts verification of the correct Flat Use factor.

Torsional Analysis of Rigid Diaphragm – Expanded UI, Output, and Documentation
The Torsional Analysis of Rigid Diaphragm module now includes additional UI notes improving wayfinding and clarifying module behavior and assumptions. A new Resisting Element Data tab summarizes all resisting element input for the lateral force resisting system, and a new Calculation Details tab reports intermediate values for stiffness, center of rigidity, and diaphragm displacement.

Steel Beam & Wood Beam – Shear Diagram Spike Fix
Resolved an issue where point loads applied directly at support locations could produce an artificial spike in the shear diagram in some cases.

Wood Column – Separate Kf Values for Each Axis and Clarified Reporting of Cp
Kf values for built-up columns are now collected separately for bending about each axis. Reporting for the Cp factor has been clarified to show evaluation about both axes, with the minimum value automatically used.

2D Frame – Axial Compressive Strength Correction
The calculation of axial compressive strength for steel members now correctly references the intended K and L values, ensuring accurate design checks.
